'ACTION THROUGH INNOVATIONS' PROJECT
Hi, my name is James Ford. Over the next two years I will be looking at ways to make homes less wasteful in their use of energy and water, whilst enhancing their function as a suitable place to live.
Through the knowledge provided by the University of West England and the actions taken by Two Rivers Housing, we will seek to provide a step-by-step approach to achieving appropriate solutions that reduce our use of energy and water in the home. These steps will be set out in a clear 'manual', by the end of the project, which can be used by tenants and social landlords alike. This manual will be designed to take into account the unique requirements of each new or existing home and those of the people that live in them.
Please feel free to click on the "monthly updates" tab to the right and download the latest newsletter update. Coming soon, an email sign up option so you can get E-Briefs monthly on the project development.

The project is a partnership between The Department for Information, Universities and
Skills, the Economic and Social Research Council, the University of West of England and Two Rivers Housing and it aims to address three key issues. Firstly, the design and provision of new zero carbon homes including the financial technical and policy implications and economics for the housing sector, second, how existing homes can be retrofitted and to what level, and thirdly, the lifestyle implications of how we will need to change how we live in the future to meet the challenges of climate change.
