#Twogether with Owl Homes we’re building 19 new affordable homes

We’ve formed a new partnership Owl Homes to provide 19 new affordable and accessible homes in Alderton, near Tewkesbury.

The Willowbank Meadows site in the Gloucestershire village of Alderton is owned by Midlands-based developer Owl Homes and will provide 48 new homes in total. The first homes at the site are due for completion in spring 2026.

We signed a contract with Owl Homes to purchase a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom affordable homes for families in the area. The new development will include 13 properties available for social rent and six for Shared Ownership, which provides people with an affordable route into home ownership.

The development will also include two accessible ground-floor flats and ten adaptable houses – helping to meet the urgent need for accessible homes in the local area.

Working with development partners to meet local housing need is one of the commitments in our corporate strategy – ‘Delivering #Twogether 2024-2027’. It forms part of our promise to provide warm, safe, sustainable homes for families living in its communities.

Speaking about the new development partnership, Sara Walton, Development Manager at Two Rivers Housing said:

“We are pleased to be working together with Owl Homes for the first time and have been really impressed by the quality of the work on the site. The government has set an ambitious target for housing across the country and forming new partnerships with developers like Owl Homes helps us deliver against this and make a real difference in the area.

“These 19 new affordable homes will help ensure more families in Gloucestershire can have a warm, safe, affordable home and will help us meet the demand for fully accessible housing in the area.”

Mike Kelly, Managing Director, from Owl Homes added: “It’s great to be working alongside Two Rivers Housing on this stunning development in Alderton. They have a real commitment to building quality, affordable homes and building communities and we’re looking forward to working with them.”
