New homes for local people – 2025/2026

Everyone should have a warm, safe, affordable home.

That’s why, alongside investing in our tenants’ homes, we work with development partners to build new affordable homes for local people.

Last year, our development team built more than 80 new homes across Gloucestershire and the surrounding area. Here’s a round-up of the homes we built in 2025/2026!

1.   We transformed Johnstone Close into 20 new homes

We transformed this former sheltered housing scheme into 20 much needed modern affordable homes for families in the area.

2.   We built 17 new affordable homes in Berry Hill

Working with Mike Etheridge Construction, we delivered 17 affordable homes in Berry Hill, including two fully accessible bungalows. The development also features a new children’s play park. Homes were made available for both affordable rent and Shared Ownership.

3.   We delivered 52 new affordable homes for rent

In 2025/26, we provided 52 new affordable rented homes, helping more local people find a place to call home. It was a pleasure to welcome new tenants, including families in Shurdington and Berry Hill.

4.    We provided 29 new homes for Shared Ownership

Shared Ownership helps people take their first step onto the property ladder by buying a share of a home and paying rent on the rest. This year, we delivered 29 Shared Ownership homes across our developments. You can find out more about Shared Ownership here, and look for available homes through our estate agents TwoCan.

5.    We started new partnerships with developers

We formed new partnerships with Centaur Homes and Owl Homes to provide affordable and accessible housing in Hartpury and Alderton. Together, these developments will deliver 27 new homes for local people.

6.   We worked #Twogether with a Community Land Trust

We continued our partnership with Eastington Community Land Trust to help address the shortage of affordable homes in the village. By working closely with the community, we can provide homes that meet local housing needs while maintaining Eastington’s maintaining that sense of local community.

7.   We worked #Twogether with smaller local developers

Supporting local businesses remains important to us. This year we partnered with Newcroft Homes Ltd and Badminton Developments to provide affordable homes in Hartpury and Staunton.

8. We built modern, warm, safe, sustainable homes

We work with our partners to build energy-efficient homes that help reduce fuel bills and lower carbon emissions. This year included zero-carbon homes in Whitminster with Newland Homes and new homes in Alderton designed to achieve an EPC A rating with Freeman Homes.

9.   We continued our partnerships with national developers

We continued to work with national housebuilders Barratt David Wilson Homes and Bloor Homes to deliver affordable housing in Ross-on-Wye, Newent and Tewkesbury. Last year we welcomed tenants into the latest homes on these developments, with more affordable homes due to be completed soon.

10. We made great progress towards our goal of 1,000 homes by 2028

Between April 2025 and March 2026, we built 81 new homes, taking our total to 885 homes since 2018. With just 115 homes left to deliver, we are on track to achieve our goal of building 1,000 affordable homes ahead of schedule.
