Work experience at Two Rivers Housing
Two Rivers Housing had the pleasure of welcoming Jay Taylor, a local secondary school student, for a week-long work experience placement last week.
Jay, aged 15, from Dene Magna School, spent the week with our Centigen repairs team and got involved with a range of activities from plumbing, plastering and carpentry to learning about fire doors, inspecting scaffolding, and assisting with repairs at empty properties.
Jay chose to come to Two Rivers to find out more about this type of work, to experience different trades in the company and to see if it is something he’d like to pursue when he leaves school next year.
Jay commented: “Thank you for letting me carry out my work experience at Two Rivers Housing, I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve had a very good week and it has been fun too.”
Liam Donegan, a Centigen operative who spent time with Jay during the week, added: “It was great to have Jay with me. It brought back many memories as I was a work experience student at Two Rivers myself, before studying for an apprenticeship and then progressing to my full-time position. That was all quite a few years ago now.”
Two Rivers Housing values supporting young people with work experience and training. If you are interested in finding out more, visit www.tworivershousing.org.uk .
