Two Rivers Housing to deliver new affordable homes in Corse, Gloucestershire in 2021

Two Rivers Housing, has agreed a contract to provide 11 new affordable homes at a new development in Corse, Gloucestershire.

The housing association currently provides almost 4,500 affordable homes across the Forest of Dean and Gloucestershire and pledged to build 1,000 more homes by 2028.

The scheme, at the Yew Tree Gardens site, is being developed with Cotswold Oak and will include 27 properties altogether. Two Rivers will partner with the Cotswold-based developer to provide six affordable homes for rent and five for Shared Ownership – the option that allows people to take a step towards home ownership through part-rent, part-buy.

Sara Walton, Development Manager at Two Rivers Housing, said: “We are very pleased to be able to offer 11 new affordable homes in Corse. These homes will provide the opportunity to rent or part-buy a property at an affordable price, within easy reach of good employment areas like Gloucester, Tewkesbury and Ledbury.”

This is the second project that Two Rivers and Cotswold Oak have partnered on, having completed a similar development in Staunton in 2020. We were really impressed with the quality of the homes created by Cotswold Oak when we worked with them on the Staunton site last year, so we are really pleased to be working with them again.” Sara added.

“There is a real shortage of affordable housing in rural locations and securing these homes helps us to deliver on our ambition to provide 1,000 new affordable homes in the area by 2028.”

All 11 properties will have air source heat pumps installed, as a greener and more cost-effective alternative to more traditional heating systems.

We have forged a really positive relationship and are looking forward to providing more high-quality houses in partnership with them.” The homes will be available for rent and Shared Ownership from April this year and will help to provide more affordable, quality housing in Gloucestershire.
