Meet our new Assistant Director of Assets Chris!

Chris Watkins has been appointed as our new Assistant Director of Assets

Having joined us as a carpenter in 2007, many of you might already know our new Assistant Director of Assets Chris Watkins.

He’s a local lad that grew up in the Forest of Dean and learned his trade with a local building company before joining us. During his time here he has developed his knowledge and skills taking on several roles within the company and eventually working his way up to the position of Head of Assets and Building Safety.

Earlier this year, he was interviewed for the interim position of Assistant Director of Assets. Since then, he has been working with the team and new Executive Director of Homes Jonny Jones to support improvements to our repairs and maintenance services.

Chris then interviewed for the role on a permanent basis. During his interview he outlined he outlined his plans to support the team and help them work more closely with tenants to make improvements to the services they provide.

He also showed a real commitment to helping the team deliver a great customer experience and ensuring that the team have the chance to grow and develop their own skills and knowledge.

Jonny and the interview panel were impressed by the vision Chris has for the future of his team. They could see that he had really taken on board our vision for the kind of organisation that we want to create and our core values.

He was also committed to putting our tenants at the heart of the services his team provides and working more closely with them to understand their needs and improve what we do and how we do it.

Commenting on his appointment he said: “Over the years I have held different roles in the organisation and that gives me a good understanding of what we are doing well and where we can improve things. I’m looking forward to working with our tenants and the team to improve the services we provide.”
