The Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) provides financial grants to help parents and carers in the UK fashion and textile industry. This includes people working in high street clothing shops and laundrettes.

The grant can be used to buy essential items for children including bedroom furniture and school essentials.

Who can apply for the grant?

The grant is for parents or carers who work or recently worked in the UK fashion and textile industry. This includes UK companies related to clothing, footwear, soft furnishing, carpets, or fabrics. For example:

  • High street clothing shops
  • Textile companies and manufacturers
  • Laundries and laundrettes
  • Logistic companies for clothing brands
  • Soft furnishing companies
  • Self-employed people who own fashion and textile companies

Parents must meet all of the following criteria points to be eligible

  1. Has children under 18 years of age
  2. Works (or has worked) for a fashion or textile business, for 1+ years in the last 9 years
  3. Is in financial difficulty, due to arrears, debt, or other financial issues.

How can the grant be used?

FTCT grants fund essential items for children aged 0-18 years, including:

  • Bedroom furniture
  • Clothing
  • School essentials
  • Appliances
  • Mobility equipment
  • Sensory toys

How to apply:

If you’re a parent or carer in the UK fashion and textile industry experiencing financial difficulty, here’s how you can apply for a FTCT grant:

  1. Get started by filling in FTCT’s simple online enquiry form at https://www.ftct.org.uk/make-an-enquiry
  2. If you’re eligible, you’ll also need to complete the full application form and provide supporting documents to FTCT. Telephone translation services are available on request.
  3. Once the form and supporting documents are sent in, FTCT will let you know their decision within four weeks. Grants are paid directly to the parent’s bank account.
