Kensley Vale, Cinderford
Kensley Vale was a sheltered scheme in Cinderford, comprising bedsits, one-bedroom properties and a former warden’s accommodation.
The buildings were hard-to-let, in poor repair and would have cost a lot to maintain, so it was decided to re-model the scheme, extend the area and provide larger accommodation.
The result was 19 one and two-bedroom bungalows grouped around a central garden area. They are available in return for a social rent.
Markey Construction led the construction, which finished in August 2012. The properties were built to Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3.
