Work experience at Two Rivers Housing

Two Rivers Housing had the pleasure of welcoming two local secondary school students for a week-long work experience placement last week.

The two students, Ellie Tyler and Chloe Sutton, both aged 15, from Forest High School, visited many different departments during the week and learned about various roles and the work that goes on here.

Ellie and Chloe decided they would like to come to Two Rivers as Ellie has a relative who already works here and they were both intrigued to know more.

“We have been made to feel very welcome,” commented Chloe.

“Yes, we have felt comfortable being here,” said Ellie, who went on to add: “We had a tour on our first day, so we knew where everything was. We have been involved in lots of different tasks and it has given us a good insight to what goes on. I enjoyed the time spent with the Customer Services team the most.”

Tim Watkins, IT Systems Administrator explained how he got involved: “Ellie and Chloe were looking for a task to get stuck in to, so I gave them something to have a bit of fun with. They were more than happy to crack on and set about their task happily and effectively, meeting and greeting most of the staff who work here in the process.

“By the time 4.30pm came they’d finished everything and done a pretty good job – leaving enough time at the end to sneak in a quick tea break!”

Two Rivers Housing values supporting young people with work experience and training. There are currently several apprenticeship vacancies available. If you are interested in finding out more, visit the ‘careers’ section of our website.
