Community help and support

At times like these certain services within the community are invaluable. There are many agencies, groups, shops and individuals that are doing things to help support their local community and we wanted to pull together a comprehensive list of these to help our tenants and the wider community.

If you, a family member, or a friend are in need, we hope this list is a good place to gain local help and support.


Forest of Dean

Home delivery services

Newent

Home delivery services

Volunteers from St Mary’s Church Newent are offering help with shopping, phone calls, posting mail and getting urgent supplies. They are contactable on 07925 953785 or 01531 820070.

Prescriptions

Newent Doctors are also delivering prescriptions to those who aren’t able to get out. FInd out more here:

Telephone Befriending Service

The Newent COVID-19 Mutual Aid Group have set up a telephone befriending service to help combat lonliness associated with isolation. They offer 2 phone calls a week for roughly 20 minutes, it’s a chance to talk about anything and everything with a trained volunteer. All volunteers are DBS checked, but are not medically trained.
